You Are The Only Exception

When I was younger
I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart
And I watched
As he tried to reassemble it
And my momma swore that
She would never let herself forget
And that was the day that I promised
I’d never sing of love
If it does not exist

But darlin’

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

Maybe I know, somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we’ve got to find other ways
To make it alone
Or keep a straight face
And I’ve always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable, distance
And up until now
I had sworn to myself that I’m content
With loneliness
Because none of it was ever worth the risk

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

I’ve got a tight grip on reality, but I can’t
Let go of what’s in front of me here
I know you’re leaving in the morning, when you wake up
Leave me with some kind of proof it’s not a dream

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

And I’m on my way to believing
Oh, and I’m on my way to believing

At World’s End

The world is falling down all around me, and it’s gaining speed at a frightening rate. And all I can do is hope that the pieces that used to be my world, don’t crash into me. I wish I looked over the cliff to see how deep the water was before I jumped.

Let Go

The wind in my face, the cold biting my fingertips, the sun shining in my eyes, the air filling my lungs with freshness. It’s the best feeling in the world, to feel no fear, to laugh freely, to worry about nothing. Its a feeling that is rarely felt. A feeling that should be enjoyed daily, but can’t be because we are always weighed down with our worries, duties, weighed down by ourselves. As humans I think we should live life to the fullest, never cower away from a adventure, never say no. But also as humans, we say no, we shy away from life itself. A mistake that I think is made every second of everyday. Today I discovered the happiness of what life should be. And the root of this happiness was friendship. I was with some friends, and I remembered what it felt like to live, to not worry, to be me. Something that I often forget so very easily. Something that should never be forgotten, but yet it is. We all remember our history lessons, our math numbers, but we forget the meaning, the feeling of life. Life is defined in many different ways, but I think there is always a universal definition of life. So I beg you today, to get out, fly, soar, swim, run, walk, hope, dream your way to life. Let Go!

The Buzzing Noise

For days, this really annoying buzzing noise has been echoing around the house, and I still haven’t figured out what it is. It just keeps ringing at a dolphin frequency. It’s so annoying!!! Has this every happened to you? Please Comment :)    New Poll: Is Carol Crazy or is She Sane?     Vote now!!! Polls close when I have more than one person looking at my blog :D

The Truth of Silence

Silence is the one thing I think all humans dread. In every horror, slasher, monster, or gore movie silence is the killer. The reason music is still here is because of the dreaded silence. I know I listen to music because the silence says more than any song could. Everyday we, as humans, fill our day with music, t.v., or chatter. Never do we just sit in silence. At almost every second in the day, we have some sort of noise, whether it’s humming, music, or talking, there is always something to fill the emptiness. But even silence has a sound, and that sound is the truth of your situation. The truth of the world, and the truth of yourself. Everyone needs to sit back, and listen to what their inner silence is saying, because if you don’t listen, then the silence will just get louder and louder until its unbearable.

My Thoughts On New Moon

One of the most famous, or the most famous, vampire story of all time, The Twilight Saga has captured the minds of millions of squeaky teenage girls, middle-aged women, and aging grandmas. Millions of people lined up outside theaters Friday night, to be one of the first to view the sequel to Twilight New Moon. And me being me, I was among those millions of people. Twilight had been very disappointing to me, so I wasn’t expecting much from New Moon, but was I surprised when I walked out of the theater two hours later. The new movie had been extremely better than the first. As expected it was gushy, and full of loving kisses, but it also had a twist of humor to it, something I had not been expecting. Of course this had to do with the wittingly funny, Jacob Black (played by Taylor Launter) who always seemed to have some humorous comeback. The absolute highlight of the film was when Jacob pulled his shirt off. The whole audience was awed, and whistles echoed through the dark theater. Sadly when stunning Edward (Robert Pattinson) took his shirt off, an awkward silence fell over the rowdy audience. I swear I even heard  some select boos scattered around the room. Despite the horrors, the movie picked up, and the whistles emerged again, whenever Jacob appeared. Even as depressing as the movie was, it was good seeing that it was aimed for young teenage girls. The fight scenes were lacking, and there was little damage, which in the end made me somewhat saddened. The ending left me awed and begging for more, and even now I know that I’ll have my ticket to Eclipse (which premieres in June or July?) months before it comes out.

“It’s not you, it’s me, really truly”

You always hear the saying “Its not you, its me” and however cliche it sounds, its so true! People come across other people daily, we interact, say hello, and move on with our day. But its a rare sight when someone actually stops and asks you how your day is. I had the pleasure of meeting someone like this, who was brave enough to have a real conversation, and we became good friends for a while, but then I let them slip through my fingers, like sand in the wind. And then I think back, on how we used to be such good friends, and wonder what happened to us. And this is where the cliche saying comes in “Its not you , its me”. We so easily forget how lucky we are, despite our most challenging obstacles, and when we face our obstacles we only see the dark side of things. We need to glance at the good side, and look at how amazing our world really is.

Hello Blog World, Here I am

Food is powerful, it can save lives, or kill them. And I think food is one thing that brings us all together at holidays, birthdays, or just at dinner.  After all, saying “Pass the potatoes” can lead into an exciting conversation of what happened to you today. Food is present at every family gathering, every holiday, and in every household. Whether its rice, or cake it brings a sense of hope into peoples lives, something that few things can. And with that thought, it is the reason why I even decided to write a blog. After all if I just randomly started typing about food on a Word document, who would read it? Who would even care about what I think. And even if no one even looks at my blog, I’ll have a feeling of accomplishment because for once in my life, my voice was projected, but it is up to you if you want to hear what I have to say. Of course, if I was to constantly write about food, I would be constantly eating, and that my friends is not good. So you will hear about far more exciting and important things than what food I cooked today, or what recipe I think is great. This first post is about food, because I think food is something we can all relate to.
